More Than a Visitor

What does it mean to truly belong to a family? This verse positions Christ not as a servant in God's house, but as the faithful Son over it. This house is not a physical building; it is a people, and that includes you. Your permanent place in this divine family is marked by an ongoing, active faith. The condition to 'hold fast' is not about earning your place. It is about living out the reality of your belonging. The first readers were tempted to drift, so this command was a vital anchor for their souls.

Your place in God's family is not temporary. Christ, as the faithful Son, has made you part of His own household. He is not going anywhere, and His faithfulness secures your position. Your part is to trust this reality. Holding fast is simply continuing to believe what He says is true about you. It is refusing to let go of the confidence He has given you. When doubts come, you do not have to fight them alone. You can lean on the faithfulness of the Son over the very house you belong to. What lie are you tempted to believe today?

Today, when you feel insecure, remind yourself: 'I am part of God’s house, and Christ the Son is in charge here.'

Father, thank You that my security rests not in my grip but in Christ’s faithfulness over Your house. Help me to hold fast to the confidence You have given me, refusing to listen to doubt. I trust that I belong to You. Amen.
