Israel and Prophecy

Long before the fullness of time arrived, God was making promises. To Abraham, to Moses, to David; a thread of covenant faithfulness running through centuries of history, exile, and return. The prophets were not merely foretelling events; they were announcing the character of a God who never abandons what He has begun.

Israel and Prophecy

Welcome to "Israel and Prophecy"!

The grand narrative of Scripture is woven through the story of one nation and God’s unfolding promises to them. From His covenant with Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3), God chose Israel not for their own merit, but to be the vessel for His redemptive plan for all humanity. This plan was revealed through prophecy, divine promises of blessing, warnings of judgment, and the glorious hope of restoration.

The prophets spoke of a coming King and a New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34), promises ultimately and perfectly fulfilled in Jesus Christ. He is the central figure to whom all the Law and the Prophets point (Luke 24:27).

Studying this theme deepens our faith in profound ways. It showcases God’s unwavering faithfulness across millennia, building our confidence in the reliability of His Word. We see that history is not random but is guided by a sovereign and loving hand. Most importantly, it magnifies our awe for Jesus, the promised Messiah of Israel and the Saviour of the world. Join us as we discover how God’s specific plan for Israel reveals His universal heart for every one of us.
