Observation
Where do you turn when the walls feel like they are closing in? David ends his prayer not with a plea, but with a statement of settled trust. Surrounded by enemies and personal distress (Ps 4:1-2), he chooses to lie down. This is not resignation; it is an act of faith. He can sleep because his security does not depend on his circumstances or his own strength. It depends entirely on the Lord who makes him dwell in safety. God Himself is his guard.
Reflection
Your weariness does not surprise God. He knows the weight you carry and the fears that keep you awake. This verse is His personal promise to you. Your peace is not found in solving every problem before you rest. It is found in a Person. The Lord Himself is your security. He is the only one who can truly make you safe. He invites you to hand over your worries, not because threats are gone, but because He is present. Will you trust Him to be your guard tonight?

What specific worry can you intentionally place in God's hands right now, choosing to trust Him with the outcome as you rest?
Prayer
Father, I confess that I often try to be my own protector. Forgive me for my anxious thoughts and my self-reliance. Tonight, I choose to trust you to be my safety, and I receive your peace. Amen.
