Will You Also Go Away

After Jesus’ difficult teaching on being the Bread of Life, the crowd thins dramatically (John 6:66). The momentum of the miraculous feeding is gone, replaced by offense and disbelief. Jesus then turns to His core group, the Twelve, and puts the choice to them directly. This is not a rhetorical question; it is a genuine, searching inquiry that forces them to count the cost of their allegiance.

Jesus asks you this same raw question when His teaching feels too hard or His presence less real than the comfort you crave. We often seek the gifts while neglecting the Giver. This moment forces a decision: do you want the solutions He provides or the communion He is? What hunger are you truly trying to satisfy today?

When following Jesus becomes difficult, is your commitment to His person strong enough to hold you when His words are hard to accept?

Lord Jesus, when my faith falters and the world's logic seems easier, anchor my heart to you. Help me to desire you more than your blessings and to never walk away. I choose to stay. Amen.
