Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, — Ephesians 5:15
Ephesians 5:15
Observation
Have you ever just stumbled through a day on autopilot? Paul urges the Ephesian believers to live with alert intention. He says, “Look carefully then how you walk” (Ephesians 5:15). In a city filled with pagan rituals and moral carelessness, this was a radical command. The days were “evil,” not just because of external threats, but because of the internal temptation to drift spiritually. Therefore, believers must consciously choose wisdom over foolishness, understanding that how they live their life matters deeply to God. This is not about perfection, but direction.
Reflection
God does not ask you to navigate these difficult days alone. He knows the pressures you face and the distractions that pull at your attention. His command to walk in wisdom is not a burden, but an invitation into His protection. The Holy Spirit is your guide, ready to give you discernment for each decision when you ask. You can trust Him to show you the Lord's will. He wants you to live with confidence, not in your own strength, but in His constant presence. How can you rely on His guidance in one specific area today?
Sit With This
Today, ask God to make you aware of one specific area where you can walk with more wisdom and purpose for His glory.
Prayer
Father, forgive me for the times I walk without thinking. Grant me Your wisdom to understand Your will for me today. Help me to walk carefully, bringing honor to Your name in all I do. Amen.

The phrase “making the most of the time” literally means “buying back the time.” It was a commercial term for seizing a strategic opportunity before it was lost forever.
