You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. — Isaiah 26:3
Isaiah 26:3
Observation
Where does your mind go when turmoil hits? Isaiah writes this promise to a nation facing judgment and exile. The peace he describes is not for everyone. It is for the one whose mind is 'stayed' on God. This is not a passive wish but an active, focused state of being. The promise is conditional. It is given to the one whose trust is firmly placed in God, the everlasting Rock. God is the active keeper of this peace; our part is to trust Him.
Reflection
Friend, God is not promising a life without storms. He is promising to be your anchor in the middle of them. Your mind will wander. Anxieties will try to take over. But God’s promise is firm. He will keep you. He holds you steady when you cannot hold yourself. This peace is a direct result of trusting His character over your circumstances. Your part is to continually bring your thoughts back to Him, fixing your mind on Jesus. What one worry can you intentionally release to His care right now?
Sit With This
When your mind wanders into worry, gently bring it back to this truth: God is your keeper.
Prayer
Father, You are my everlasting Rock. Keep my mind fixed on You today, not on the waves of fear or doubt. I trust You to hold me in Your perfect peace. Amen.
Did You Know?
The Hebrew word for 'mind' (yetzer) in this verse can also mean 'imagination' or 'frame'. God keeps in peace the one whose entire mental framework is shaped by and submitted to Him.
