Observation
What does your soul truly feed on? Psalm 1 contrasts two paths. The first is the way of the wicked. But this verse presents a different person entirely. Their joy is not found in popular opinion or fleeting advice. Their delight is in the instruction, the torah, of the LORD. This is not a burdensome duty but a chosen pleasure. This delight leads to a constant turning over of God’s Word in their mind, both in the light of day and the quiet of night. It is the very source of their stability.
Reflection
God does not want your relationship with His Word to be a chore. He invites you to find true satisfaction in it. Your heart was made for this. Augustine once described Scripture as being sweeter than honey. When you make time to quietly consider God's truth, you are not just reading a book. You are meeting with the living God who speaks through it. He wants to anchor your heart in His promises, especially when life feels unstable. You can trust Him to meet you there, in His Word, and nourish your soul. What one truth from His Word will you hold onto today?

Instead of scrolling, pause and ponder one verse. Let God’s Word be the last thing on your mind tonight and the first thing tomorrow.
Prayer
Father, make Your Word my greatest delight, more desirable than anything this world offers. Help me to meditate on Your truth, finding my strength and my stability in You alone. Let my heart be completely satisfied in Your presence. Amen.
