Bringing Sin into the Light

Leviticus 5 details offerings for unintentional sins, like failing to testify or touching something unclean. Crucially, before any sacrifice is offered, the individual must first confess their specific sin to the priest (Leviticus 5:5). This act of vocalizing the failure was a required step for everyone, rich or poor, demonstrating that honest acknowledgment must precede atonement. God made a way, but it required honesty.

God already knows your hidden faults, so why must you voice them? Because *you* need to. Confession brings what is in darkness into the light of His grace, where it can be healed. Just as a sick person must first admit their ailment to a doctor, so we must admit our sin to God. Have you brought your specific failings to Christ, your Great High Priest, today?
