A Treasure Kept for You

Everything you own on earth will one day decay. But God has something for you that will not. Peter describes your future inheritance with three powerful negatives. It is imperishable, meaning it cannot be destroyed or rot. It is undefiled, meaning it cannot be stained by sin or impurity. And it is unfading, meaning its beauty and glory will never diminish. This is not a prize you must earn or protect. Notice the final words: this inheritance is 'kept in heaven for you.' It is guarded by God Himself, in a place where thieves, rust, and market crashes have no power. This is a divine guarantee.

Do you ever worry about your future? Do you fear losing what you have worked so hard for? Your Father wants you to know your true inheritance is perfectly safe. It is not subject to the corruption and decay of this world. This inheritance is kept safe in God’s own treasury, where no enemy can reach it. It is held for you by the very hand of God. Your name is on it. Because of Jesus' work, this treasure is yours and nothing can take it away. Can you rest today in the certainty of what He is holding for you?
