Observation
Do you ever feel stuck between who you are and who you want to be? John tells us that right now, we are God’s children (1 John 3:2). But our final form is still a mystery. What we do know is a firm promise. When Christ appears, we will be made like Him. This future certainty is not for idle waiting. John connects this glorious hope directly to our lives today. Because we have this hope, we are compelled to pursue purity right now. The future reality shapes our present character.
Reflection
This hope is not wishful thinking. It is a secure anchor for your soul. God has promised that one day, you will see Jesus face to face and be fully changed into His likeness. Augustine saw this hope as the very engine of a holy life. Your efforts to live purely today are not about earning God’s love. They are the natural response to His unbreakable promise. He is faithful to complete the good work He began in you. Can you trust that your future with Him is secure, and let that truth change how you live today?

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for the certain hope that I will one day be like you. Help me live in light of that promise, purifying my heart because you are pure. Let my future glory shape my present obedience. Amen.
