Observation
What if your exhaustion is a sign you're carrying a burden God never intended? The religious leaders saw the Sabbath as a test of obedience. They focused on what was forbidden. But Jesus reframes their entire view. He reminds them that God did not create humanity to serve a day of the week. Instead, God gave the Sabbath as a gift to serve and restore humanity. It was always meant to be a blessing, a day of relief and connection with the Creator, not a heavy weight of religious rules.
Reflection
God knows you get tired. He designed you with a need for rest. This verse is His gentle reminder that rest is not a reward you must earn, but a gift He freely gives. He is not trying to catch you breaking a rule. He is inviting you to trust Him. To trust that the world will not fall apart if you stop. To trust that your worth is not in your work. He is a good Father who provides for His children. How might receiving His gift of rest change the way you see your busy life today?

Where are you refusing God's gift of rest today, believing the lie that you must keep striving to be enough?
Prayer
Father, forgive me for treating rest like an achievement instead of a gift from Your hand. Help me to cease my striving and trust that You hold my life and my work together. Lord, teach me to rest in You. Amen.
